MEET ROBERT

RV1_edited.jpg

Robert Vigue was born in Waterville, Maine to Robert and Louise Vigue. He is the second of five children.  His mother moved to Pittsburgh after the death of his father in an industrial accident.

Robert's family lived in the city of Pittsburgh where his mother worked for the United States Postal Service. In 1971, the family moved to Valencia, Pennsylvania, where Robert attended Mars High school and was part of the class of 1975. Fresh out of high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served for over twenty honorable years in active duty.

During his time in the Air Force, he was awarded honors including the Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and five Air Force Good Conduct Medals. Also while in the Air Force, he loved to be involved in the communities outside the base where he was assigned. An example of which, he was elected to the position of PTA president at Rio Rancho Elementary School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and was involved at the Albuquerque Little Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Upon retirement in 1995, he lived in New Mexico until 2003 but yearned to be back in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. He built a home in the borough of Valencia, where he currently resides. An active member of the community, he is serving his ninth year on the Valencia Town Council as the council president. Robert also serves on the Mars Library Board, acting as a technical consultant to the librarian, and the Butler County Federated Library Board. Robert was previously twice elected as Pennsylvania State Constable and is serving on the Butler County Boroughs Association as 2nd Vice President.

Robert has a beautiful daughter Thailia, and is the proud grandfather of Meagan and Luke. He is a member of St. Killian’s Parish  in Cranberry Township
