Last night I attending a town hall discussing the DOE rule change that will effect the Butler and Zanesville steel works. The DOE made a proposed rule change that would change energy standards that could make the products produced at the Cleveland-Cliffs obsolete. This rule change if adopted would come into effect in 2027 making the Butler Plant and the Zanesville Ohio plant obsolete. This would leave us with no production facility in the US with this type of steel. With that would come with the layoffs and put more than a thousand workers from UAW local 3303 out of work. This is a detriment to Butler, the local economy and force us to import this this type of steel. We need to support our workers and our country. Write your congressman write your senators writhe the govenor . Put pressure on the DOE.
